~ Jamie Peterson ~

Jamie started jumping at age 4 at the Norge Ski Club in Chicago .  When he was 7, he and his family moved to Linden , MI , about 40 miles north of Ann Arbor , although he skis for the Tri-Norse Ski Club of Wisconsin Rapids, who are wonderful supporters and sponsors.  He often travels on weekends to ski tournaments throughout the Central Division, both in the winter and the summer, to train and practice.  The closest ski jumping facility is at Norge, which is 5 hours away by car.  Jamie is a 15 year old sophomore at Linden High School , plays euphonium in the Linden High School Concert Band, and Marching Baritone in the Marching Band.  That marching band took 8th place overall in the State Championships at the Silverdome for the last two years in a row.  He is also a member of the High School Quiz Bowl Team.

Jamie’s favorite hills are the K90 at Park City and the K10 in the back yard of his grandparent’s house, where the Peterson family gets together each year to host a family fun tournament, where everyone takes out 30 year old jumping skis and boots.  Anyone in the family who has jumped in competition is eligible to take out vintage skis and boots, and can jump, including his uncles and grandfather, and everyone takes first place.

Jamie will soon be moving to northwest Wisconsin , where he will be able to practice and train more regularly.
